Columbus Recreation and Parks Department has placed portable digital message signs on the SR 315 ramp to alert drivers to watch for people crossing at the intersection to access the Olentangy Trail. Additionally, Columbus Recreation and Parks will place new signs and markings along the trail that encourage users to press the pedestrian button at the intersection signal to activate the walk phase; this should be complete within the next several weeks – we will install signage as it becomes available.
Columbus Recreation and Parks is also working with the Department of Public Service to add a beeping auditory feature to the pedestrian signal, and to explore alternative signal phasing for enhanced safety at the trail crossing.
