Hello,
Unfortunately, the removal process at Hoover, Griggs, and O’Shaughnessy typically takes three to four weeks to complete. It’s not a quick task — it requires specialized equipment, a trained crew, and careful coordination of many logistical details.
We begin removal in November to stay ahead of winter temperatures. This timing ensures that the structures are taken out of the water before there’s any risk of ice formation. More importantly, it helps protect staff by minimizing their exposure to extreme cold conditions while working on and around the water, making the process safer overall.
Thank you, and have a great day.
